Native Council of Nova Scotia Zone 1
Six months ago I was homeless and living in a Transition House. I contacted Native Council and explained my situation. Jill Wolf and Carla Asprey came to the transition house and did an intake with me and got the ball rolling to my next steps that I had to take. Within 2 weeks Bev Colpitts came to the transition house had a conversation with me she tried to set me up and help me find apartments but unfortunately we didn't have much luck with that. Bev runs a homeless program in which she took me in as a client and was able to meet with a board for approval to put a roof over my head. I received the approval and within a week I had a place to live ... Furniture to sit on everything was there for me I didn't need for anything. So I'm trying to remember all the programs that were involved but it would be easier to list the people that were there for me from Native Council. I would like to thank Bev Colpitts for getting the ball rolling and getting me a home. I would like to thank Jill Wolfe and Carla Asprey for the job support the cooking programs budget cooking crock pot cooking. I would like to thank Native Council for paying and allowing me to take my first aid course in which I passed and I'm very grateful for that. I would like to thank Lee Paul and Tracy Johnson for all their support and everything that they could do for me. Gilbert Paul CHIP Coordinator for signing my Grandson and I up with CHAT AND PLAY ... Without these kind of Programs and the Coordinators that Native Council have working for them, a lot of us including myself may not have found a permanent roof over my head that I can now call home. I have so much to be Grateful for because of Native Council of Nova Scotia and their incredible Programs and Amazing Coordinators. Last but not least Mary Rose Watts for taking all my phone calls and always being a pleasure.
With much Gratitude and Appreciation I Thank The Creator that we have Native Council of Nova Scotia Zones 1 - 6 with out them and their support I would not have my new apartment and a place to call home
