Oxford Learning in Bedford has made such an incredible impact on 3 children’s success here in Halifax. Almost 5 years ago a Syrian refugee family of 5 arrived in Halifax and Lorelei Burgess & her team at Oxford generously supported their 3 children in learning English.

Fast forward to 2023 and all 3 are thriving in High School and thrilled to be going back for homework and extra support. Thank you Oxford Learning; your focused attention, tools/resources and welcoming atmosphere has helped these 3 teens be confident, contributing members of our community!

My experience with Oxford learning have been life changing for my son, not only for his education but also his confidence. Melissa and her team go above and beyond for their students. They truly care about each and every child that walks through that door . My son started at the end of a school year and by September his grade 5 teacher could not belive the difference over a summer. They have provided him with the skills and learning techniques to help him transition into junior high. Oxford learning I can't thank you enough.

Lorelei and her team are wonderful! They care about their students, are committed to their success and make learning matter. The initial assessment is key as parents can better understand who their child is as a learner and what skill gaps they might possess. The customized programs are effective and help to build confidence; there is no guessing here! So thrilled to have a team of educators like this in the community!

My experience with Oxford Learning has been incredible. My daughter was 11 years old when she started attending and has always struggled at school. Once my daughter had her assessment at Oxford I learned that she was at a Grade 3 reading level even though she was in Grade 6. After just 1 year at Oxford Learning my daughter – who is now in Grade 7 – is at her current grade level in school and has a 91% average in Math and a 93% in English. She has gained so much confidence through Oxford Learning, and it is reflected at school in her classes, presentations, and homework. This confidence isn’t limited to her schoolwork, but also shines through with her friends and during her extra-curricular activities.
Oxford Learning’s staff has been amazing to work with one-on-one, in a group setting, and even when they adapted during the COVID-19 pandemic and transitioned into online learning. They really make each child feel important and go above and beyond to ensure the kids are comfortable, and that they’re having a good time while learning. I cannot say enough great things about Oxford Learning and HIGHLY recommend them to anybody who has children in school.
