Genuine Kitchens

Our experience with Genuine Kitchens (GK) was excellent, start to finish. The designer (Laura) worked with us on a complete kitchen redesign, she was great to work and was patient with us as we continually tweaked the design until we were completely satisfied. Every call and email was always handled with the utmost professionalism.
We ordered all of our kitchen appliances through GK, they are a dealer for KitchenAide. This worked out great as they arranged for the appliances to arrive at the end of the install.
The installer (Carl) was excellent, he took the time to do the job right, which we very much appreciated. He is a perfectionist and when it comes to installing custom cabinetry that is what you want. In my opinion his workmanship is next to none.
We would not hesitate to recommend Genuine Kitchens, if quality is important to you - you won't go wrong with this company.

We recently carried out a complete kitchen renovation. We chose Genuine Kitchens to supply and install our cabinets and countertops because my sister-in-law used them a few years ago for her kitchen renovation and she highly recommended them. We couldn't be more pleased that we listened to her advice. Genuine Kitchens helped us explore options for a new kitchen layout, drafted drawings for us to review, and patiently worked through several rounds of revisions while we finalized our design. They also helped us select the cabinet style, colors, hardware, etc. Installation was done on time and with great attention to detail (the install was flawless). The staff were excellent to work with throughout, and the finished result is a kitchen for this decade rather than 1995. We are particularly pleased with the quality of the cabinets (they give the kitchen a high-end look and feel) and the follow-up care we have received. Overall, we would give Genuine Kitchens our highest recommendation.

Genuine Kitchens did an amazing job designing and building my kitchen. They were professional and knowledgeable. Highly recommend them.

We worked with Genuine to design, manufacture and install a large under the stairs coat closet, pantry, wine cabinet and other storage as well as a large book shelf, full master king sized bed frame with side tables and under mattress storage, a large dresser unit, a master bedroom closet, a second closet design as well as a full length desk and shelving unit. Everything was professionally designed, professionally manufactured and professionally installed. The end product was worth every penny.

Our experience with Genuine Kitchens was superb. Working with the staff (Jaime) in the showroom was efficient, informative - and importantly, fun and exciting. Jaime gave us a full view of the options available, the balance between cost/quality, as well as implications on timeline. We probably spent just a few hours over a couple of visits in the showroom to make the many decisions required. I had to take a meeting in the middle of one of these sessions, and Jamie even set me up with a makeshift office :)

Jaime is also a designer, and guided us in making key decisions. Her drawings were complete, well explained, and made intelligent and best use of our space. We cycled through multiple iterations of drawings; Jaime always understood our requests clearly and there were no delays during this phase of the work.

GK provided solid referrals to other contractors/suppliers where required, mainly for countertops and tiles. They have established relationships with others in the industry, which made coordination of installation seamless. We were working with a kitchen contractor to oversee the full project, and GK communicated and collaborated with them effectively.

There was some delay (~ couple of weeks) in providing our custom kitchen cabinets, but we undertook this project just as the pandemic came down, so that was entirely understandable - and actually were impressed with GK's capacity to adhere closely to the timeline given the circumstances.

The installer was the Zen master of cabinet installation. He was precise to the millimetre (or less?) and showed a remarkable ethic with regard to quality and completeness. He took the time required. We really enjoyed talking with him about the details and appreciated his fine workmanship. When incidentals arose (e.g., wrong under-counter lighting) he helped us navigate this and resolve in short order.

GK also provides Jenn-Air appliances. These are great, with the exception of their 'smart' connectivity, which has been problematic. My sense is that GK doesn't mark these up dramatically, prices seem competitive. One main surprise arose (incompatible range hood ordered) - GK took responsibility for this immediately, and set us up with a solution.

After 6+ months in our new kitchen we have realized that the quality of GK custom cabinets is excellent, and has stood up to our heavy use. Just in case, the warranties are comprehensive.

The cost of GK's cabinetry may lean toward the high end of the spectrum, but the value is obvious with regard to the the professionalism of the service and the quality of the end product. If we were to undertake a similar project again, we would definitely go with Genuine Kitchens. 5*!
