Ok i'm going to ignore the lighthouse... so sue me!! If you can get there, Devil's Island is a WONDERFUL place for birding: like its neighbour Harten's Point, it has a surprising variety of habitats, and is visited in the fall and spring by many tired birdies looking for a spot to rest on their migration - or just blown off course in a storm.
I didn't have a way over to the island itself, but I enjoyed the walk along the coast. Incredible views if you continue along the water.
Rugged little island at the mouth of Halifax harbour. Only one good spot to land a kayak on the north side. Small active light house and a few old house foundations are all that remain. Lots of different sea birds use the island for nesting and protection.
Cute little lighthouse! After a dip at the rainbow Haven Beach Provincial Park, we found this lighthouse in short distance. Beautiful sunset and breeze along the coastal drive to conclude our vacation
If you have managed to get here(it is on an island with no standard transportation) then you will be able to see a couple of abandoned houses and the lighthouse.
Why it is spelt lighthiuse, I do not know.
If you plan on camping here be advised that helicopters fly nearby on a daily basis.
