I had my wedding here a month ago, and it's a fantastic location. The area outside is beautiful, and the building itself is gorgeous. Unfortunately we had rain on the wedding day, but we had a small wedding (only 40 something guests), so there was sufficient room inside to do the ceremony. It would have been difficult for a much larger group inside.

We were told that we'd have access to the venue to start decorating at 8am, but someone with keys did not arrive to let us in until past 9, so we were a bit anxious waiting outside. I called the event coordinator, but I never heard back from her. I expected there would be someone there when we arrived to show us where things were, answer questions etc., but there wasn't.

Later someone (Mark) arrived and he was very helpful, I wish he'd been there to begin with. He was fantastic. Additionally Anna (server) and Grace (bar) were also fantastic and deserve mention.

One near mess, just as the bride began to walk down the aisle, whoever was working in the kitchen decided to turn their radio on loud enough to be heard. Luckily my best man was able to run back there and get him to turn it off before it ruined anything, but I don't know what they were thinking. On the bright side, the food they made back there was quite good, so at least there was that!

Lastly, when we first booked the place we were told we could pick X number of entrees, sides, desserts etc. for our guests, and were given the pricing. We were later told we had to pick fewer options, and the pricing had gone up. I can appreciate that prices go up (and the prices were still lower than most places we'd looked at), and it's probably a lot of work to make so many dishes, so it's okay, but I was a little disappointed.

Overall there were pros and cons, but it was good. I feel I've mostly talked about the cons because "it's a beautiful place" doesn't take up much space, but I did really like the place, and the price was quite reasonable. If I had to do it all over again, I would pick the same place.

Beautiful place, amazing views of the water! Had a friend get married there and it couldn’t have been more amazing!

We had our wedding there and everything was perfect. Nice staff and delicious meals. Reasonable price too. Perfect day!

We chose to have our wedding reception at The Saraguay House at the Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron. I cannot say enough good things about this place. Incredible food, amazing pricing and a staff that goes above and beyond to make your day nothing short of perfect. The views from this place are like no other and it has a close, intimate feel while also giving your guests plenty of space. Their wedding venue coordinator, Marriann will help you with anything you need! Loved this place so much!

This is a great place for a party.

We had our wedding reception here and it was a blast.

The Northwest Arm as a backdrop is always beautiful, even when the weather is cold and wet.

The staff are easygoing and accommodating. In terms of setting up, the venue had things on site like easels to help with table seating displays. The site also has white table cloths as well as table overlays in different colours. I chose black, but there was also blue, burgundy and champagne.

Everyone loved the food. We went with the pork and turkey for the main buffet dinner. People also loved the hors d'oeuvres and desserts.

Bonus: There is plenty of parking. And my family with mobility issues were able to move around.
