  Highly recommend. I had the honor of having Mike Fournier teach my policing and corrections class (health and wellness as well as our fitness and defense.) He knows his stuff and is an amazing insightful instructor. I was in poor physical shape before starting with him and developped strength thru implementing his teachings. So dont let that stop you! Its thanks to him I've had the confidence and determination to get to where I am. His training provided a stepping stone for my career.

  My name is Leslie Keays-White, I am using my daughter Adell's email address to submit my review as I do not have an email address to do this.
  I have been with the Academy for the past 4 years and my passion grows with each time I learn more about the techniques, the impact on my anatomy and the increase of my ability to execute some pretty amazing self-defense techniques.
  It takes time to program the Mind, Body, Spirit and Emotions which are part all of being a balanced practitioner... this is not a one-dimensional 'WAY', it is an evolution of 'SELF'.
  Give yourself a chance, be patient and fearless...the pain you feel from learning in the safety of the Academy will be amplified to any Assailant interested in hurting you or any of your loved ones.

  I have been training at the East Coast Combat Hapkido School since May 2017 under the instruction of Master Mike Fournier. At the time I was looking for a Martial art School where I could learn self-defense techniques to build my self confidence in defending myself and getting myself and or loved ones out of harms way. Training at the East Coast Combat Hapkido School has achieved that plus more. My self confidence in self-defense has increased two fold and I made new friends in my journey. Master Mike provides a safe environment to train in and all students work together helping each other out in perfecting their techniques. Our first hour of drills are top notch where we use real life situations and learn how to apply self-defense techniques to get ourselves out of harmful situations. The Saturday morning sessions are great where Master Mike asks the class if we have a "What if" scenario. Then as a class under Master Mike's instruction we explore that scenario and work out a solution using self-defense techniques. The East Coast Combat Hapkido is the place to join if you are looking for a martial art school to learn self-defense techniques that can be used by anyone at any time.

  I started Combat Hapkido at East Coast with Master Mike about two years ago. He is a very knowledgeable, experienced and adept Master Instructor, teaching all the aspects of "Street Self Defense". He's very patient and methodical teaching you all the ins and outs of how to defend yourself in any given situation. The class is a lot of fun and laid back but still structured so that you not only learn all you need to know but to have the discipline of how to use it and when OR when not to. I highly suggest anyone who wants to learn how to defend themselves in this day and age to come try it out. You won't regret it. - James Sabean

  I started in August. Learned a lot, Master Mike teaches techniques in a understandable way. Everyone really helps everyone, great atmosphere! I have a lot of fun taking this class. Tonight we did some knife defense before we did our belt techniques, and it was interesting and fun!
