(July 20, 2020, 6:30 am)As Halifax has kept pace with the modern era, it has continually upgraded its infrastructure and equipment. The huge, bright orange loading cranes which dominate the South End Container Terminal are a vital part of the infrastructure which has kept Halifax competitive as a port city. I remember when they were built and thought then that they wrecked a significant portion of the view-planes from Point Pleasant Park, but now they represent for me, a part of what keeps Halifax a vital part of the Canadian and global economy.
