(October 29, 2018, 11:24 pm)Hiking trails throughout the Bluff Wilderness area are top notch with amazing views from natural landscape. The four loops allow you to pick your distance, and give you many different landscapes as your move through the park. Going from rock-hopping to lakeside walks and back up for a hilltop view are all part of the journey. The trails are almost always obvious with blazes and rocks pointing you in the right direction. There is always a full park map at each intersection so you can't make a wrong turn.
The opening rail trail is a generously wide crush stone path for walkers, runners and cyclists to move about. The entrance to the four loops is about half a kilometer from the parking lot and starts out more challenging than the average trail terrain. If you're planning to go farther than the Pot Lake Loop (first loop), I would suggest proper hiking shoes and apparel, a couple litres of water and a solid lunch. You'll be tired by the end with a big smile on your face.
*Disclaimer: I haven't done the last loop of the trail, but have seen the designated campsites in flat areas along the trail. Happy hiking! -

(October 12, 2018, 12:50 pm)The trail is beautiful and easy to follow. Went in October to enjoy the colours and they did not disappoint! Took about 2.5-3 hours from parking lot and back again. I found it useful to bring a map just to get an idea of travel time. A great cross section of Nova Scotia forest and terrain.

(September 30, 2018, 11:06 pm)Great trail, beautiful views. We did the pot lake loop in September and it took us about 3.5 hours from parking in the parking lot to arriving back after our hike. It was generally easy to know where to go; whether with trail markers or rocks being placed across areas that might be confused with the trail. The parking lot was already busy by 11am, but the trail was not too busy during our hike.
