We were travelling by motorcycle and stayed overnight on the way to Halifax. The hosts were very accomodating, and the rooms were so quaint and clean. We had the efficiency apt. and it was great. We sat outside on the upper deck and enjoy the sunset.
Quiet and comfortable and dont miss out on the homemade bread for breakfast. Thank you so much to our hosts.
A Wonderfully homey bed and breakfast. stoped in on a trip to Cape Breton. The Anke's are lovely, kind people with a love of animals. Amazing hospitality, definately try their homemade bread. attached are photos of the verry cuddly Leo.
I came by this lovely bed and breakfast by sheer luck. I had a wonderful 2 days there. The host's were extremely friendly! Don't mind the man's rough exterior he's a softy through and through, just need a translator to speak with him, which help from their lovely daughter was made possible for incredible conversation! The geese and goats outside give you a nice feeling of escape to the country even though youre just on the outside of town. Beautiful area and cozy place to stay! Anke's bed and breakfast was an experience that I was surprised to come by! Anybody going through sheets harbour looking for a place to stay on their long journey should definitely take the time to stay here!
Anke's appears to be in the process of a remodel when I visited. The hospitality was very kind and the golden retriever very friendly. Breakfast was very good and a nice presentation. The mattress in my second floor bedroom was horrid. Now back home in Seattle I'm getting a few chiropractic adjustments to fix my sore back. I think Anke will be upgrading as the remodel plan progresses.
Excellent hospitality welcoming all sorts of travelers. Me and my dog rolled in our big red bicycle and were greeted by dogs goats and chickens. Anke and sigfried hosted us splendidly. Once I got the inside tip on the angle of the shower knob I got cleaned up and enjoyed the lovely little town on the banks of the river flowing into the bay. Breakfast is traditional sliced ham and cheese and delicious homemade fruit preserves and bread with butter. We spent two nights and a full rainy day here. We used our tarp to cover the bicycle as there is no outdoor covered area. Thanks for everything Anke!
