The food is as advertised. Unique blends of local fresh foods & recipes. A satisfying surprise. Warm, unique friendly atmosphere. A must try for your bucket list.
We spent an evening and night at The Flying Apron last week and had a fabulous time! Very friendly staff welcomed us on our arrival and showed us to our room. The room was comfortable, spacious, clean and lovely, After sharing drinks on the balcony with our friends on a sunny warm night, we had dinner in the restaurant. Warm and spacious restaurant and , again, friendly and helpful staff. The food and wine was superb.!! All local wines which were surprisingly very good. The portions were substantial, so it was hard to fit in a dessert, however we managed it!! We heard afterwards that 95 per cent of their produce is locally sourced which is very impressive!. We had a wonderful evening! Breakfast the following day was delightfully served by the owner, with eggs, bacon, toast , fruit and yoghurt. All in all, a truly wonderful evening and overnight stay.
Beautiful restaurant. Fresh, delicious food. Great experience!
Our second visit within a year, and the food quality was consistently fantastic! It is obvious that they take great effort (and pride) in sourcing local and sustainable ingredients, with a menu that changes weekly. The building itself is unique- part bookstore, part art gallery, post office, cooking school, and food mercantile. It would be a fulfilling visit even without the spiced blueberry crumble (or perfectly breaded fish and chips, or beef brisket, or...). A perfect destination for a Sunday drive or special occasion. Now fly away, fly away!
My friends celebrated my birthday and retirement by booking us into the Inn and having Chef Chris prepare a Moroccan Meal in the Demo Kitchen.
Chris and his team made us feel incredibly welcome. The food and wine were great, and we enjoyed more conversation in the comfy chairs by the fireplace in the Library, before retiring to our cozy and comfortable rooms.
The next morning Chris whipped us up a big breakfast before we hike the Ocean Floor @ Burntcoat Head Park. A fabulous 24 hours!
