Visiting from Ontario. Stopped in on Thanksgiving Sunday for dinner after hiking along the Cabot Trail. Wonderful efficient service! They had a full turkey dinner on special that was delicious with a pint !
Definitely recommend a visit!
We also enjoyed great live local entertainment. The Boss Brenda-Lee was a wonderful hostess and made us feel extremely welcome!! The food was very delicious. The fresh homemade buns and oatcakes made for a fantastic local experience!!!
We had a very nice lunch here. The food tasted amazing and the staff were very friendly! They had a kids menu with crayons and good variety (10$ including dessert). So many cake desserts to choose from; I would recommend lemon cake! Wonderful seafood chowder and fish and chips. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place :)
Other then the Haddock we found it fairly Expensive compared to most other Places (assuming all of Cape Breton is expensive during tourism season) but was expecting a bit more Affordability stating "family restaurant". Food was Ok but condiments were all in packages (even the Tartar) - Come on Guys at least in-House that... Disappointed. Deserts looked appealing in the Cart -but up close some were sitting in their own Goo from defrosting in that warm Dome. Bar side had Appeal - Restaurant side was highly Lacking. If your guna charge obsured prices ($95 for steak & lobster) at least serve condiments cold in a dish and rid the tables of those hideous table cloths.
Not many options when you visit early in the season in Cape Breton. Stopped here for lunch and left disappointed. Ordered the lobster club and veggie. As you can see in the pictures, it’s frozen vegetables that was boiled as it was completely water logged and mushy and wasn’t even seasoned. The lobster sandwich was decent, but at $35, it was expensive for about half the meat you would normally get in a lobster roll in NS. The fish and chip was ok ($19) as the batter was crispy but very greasy on the plate as the fish wasn’t drained before serving. There are lots of settings and attached to a sport bar on the other side. The service was friendly, but can’t recommend to go back if we were ever in the area again.
