We would definitely stay here again. The location is perfect to explore Cape Breton, with a distillery two minutes away and good restaurants within a 30 minute drive. From my first phone call, Noel was helpful and kind. The site for our 40 ft. force plus tow behind was perfect, hooking up to water, sewer and electricity. It’s evident that there has been work done to the campground this year and that more is planned. Thank you for your hospitality!
We were traveling the Cabot Trail and decided to stop here for our second night. The owner was very friendly and helpful. There has been much work done to revive this campground that had been unused for a number of years. The washrooms are new. The owner is planning to address the issue of water pooling on the floors. The laundry area was clean and we did a load while there. Machines worked great. There was wifi in the laundry area but that was about it. The owner is aware of this issue and trying to extend the range. We did require wifi so we simply went to the laundry room and sat in the chairs provided. This is a pet friendly campground. The washrooms could have been cleaner.
Overall, this is a work in progress and has potential to be a great campground.
We stayed at Maple Meadows for one night in mid-September during a bicycle tour of the Cabot Trail and over to NS. The location was ideal as we rode bikes to dinner jsut a mile down the road at Glenora Distillery. The unserviced area for tent camping is set furthest away from the road in an open meadow with picnic tables next to a lovely stream. The road was quiet at night so we slept great next to the stream. The showers and laundry room were clean and the water was nice and hot! Noel was super nice and helpful when we checked in, and even gave us and our bikes a ride back to Inverness the next morning to start the Celtic Shores Rail Trail. Definitely recommend this spot.
This campground is in the best location between Inverness and Mabou. The new owners brought this older campground back to life after many years closed, they have done an amazing job clearing up the sites for seasonal and overnighters.
Water hookup is easily available at all trailer sites, along with power and septic.
We have a stream running behind our trailer and very convenient for fishing if you're into that.
Its very clean, this is our first summer as it only opened in June 2023 and very reasonably priced for the location.
Highly recommended.
We were grateful to find Maple Meadows and meet Noel who did everything possible to make our stay excellent. It is a very new campground with a few items still to be addressed, but Noel is aware of them all and works hard to be sure his campers are happy. It’s a great location, some un-serviced tent/van sites directly on the bubbling Brook (quiet & beauy). clean restrooms & showers (with some water pooling), laundromat & dishwashing sink, full service sites (some shaded some not). We arrived after several days of heavy rain which made some sites unusable. we’d gladly return as we know the few remaining problems will be fixed by then.
Many thanks to Noel who did make us very happy.
