The Yoga Barn

The Yoga Barn is the perfect place to practice yoga and meditation. The sense of peace you feel looking out over the fields is part of the experience. The warmth in the barn from the infrared panels and heated floors envelops you. The Yoga Barn is a 100 year old renovated barn located in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia surrounded by farm land. Jenny, the owner and yoga instructor, has the perfect tone and cadence in her voice and the ability to describe the poses and keep you in the moment. She is an excellent yoga instructor. She offers classes for beginners, vinyasa flow(begins and ends with yin stretches), hot yoga and yin(extended stretch poses). All great for flexibility, circulation, balance and strength not to mention your mental well being. Once a month she offers yoga Nidra (sleep yoga is what I call it). It’s value is immense to anyone with sleep issues or for example, a new parent! I believe that 10min of nidra = to about 4 hours regular sleep. She also offers instructor courses at the barn. It’s a unique and wonderful experience if you can join a class.
