I visited Dan's gallery in Lunenburg in September of 2021 and it is one of the best galleries I have ever seen. His thoughtful and dramatic presentation of his work in his gallery is stunningly impressive.
His artwork is amazing and I purchased 2 pieces of Dan's work that same day. His pieces look stunning on the walls of my home.
Furthermore, Dan is a lovely man to deal with and he is exceptionally friendly. I could not have had a better experience with Dan and I am a true fan of his amazing artwork.
I highly recommend him and his work.
It was the summer of 2021 that I happened to find myself in Dan’s gallery. My husband and I are not art connoisseurs, and typically we are in and out of galleries within minutes. But we both found ourselves mesmerized by the space and the pieces on the wall. What we loved was that this wasn’t just about art, but it was a full experience. Dan had curated rooms and spaces that included words of wisdom and little touches of magic. We found ourselves slowing down and taking in each room and message. Finally, at the end of our tour, Dan asked if there were any pieces that stood out. There were a few, but one in particular caught my eye. After connecting with the man behind the art, I felt that there was a deeper connection and with his help, I was able to make my first art purchase. The piece now rests above our fireplace in our new home in Nova Scotia. When asked about it, I recall the overall experience of the purchase and the magic behind it. Thank you Dan for your art, your words of wisdom, and the experience, now a memory.
I am a partner at a local accounting firm in the Halifax area and am pleased that Dan's art has graced our offices for over 20 years now where it is admired by clients on a regular basis. His techniques result in images that glow in any light and the coastal themes resonate well with our location. Where else can you get a landscape of Cape Split that spans 12 feet above our entrance? Thank you Dan for sharing your works with our firm.
Our visit to Daniel Richards' gallery was an experience we will remember forever. While the gallery setup was certainly unconventional, the quality of the work blew us away as soon as we stepped inside. We were thrilled to acquire several pieces for our home, where they will bring beauty into our lives daily and keep us connected with Nova Scotia, its stunning land and seascapes, and the joy of nature. In the end, fostering that joy and sense of connection is what really matters about art.
Visiting Dan Richards's gallery was the ultimate highlight of our trip to Nova Scotia. I am a professional designer, with some art training, and I could see immediately that Dan's art is next level. When I walked into the gallery, my immediate reaction was, "Wow, this art is amazing!" and that initial reaction has held up. When the art arrived, it sucked me into the detail, composition, and beauty all over again. And our framer with a degree in Fine Art had the exact same reaction. As we unfurled Lloyd's Landing, Blue Boat, and two of Dan's incredible black and white works, each and every time, he gasped "Wow, that's beautiful!"
But even more amazing that the art is the artist. Dan Richards took more care that my art professors to explore my own perception, reaction, and appreciation of each image. Art is an act of putting one's creative and personal energy into the world, and each of Dan's works if full of his spirit.
