Dory Mates’ Seafood Shop

My "go-to" place for fresh seafood in Lunenburg. The salmon filets and scallops I picked up last week were excellent! Highly recommended!

Well decorated seafood shop, but doesn't have much variety. We were hoping to get some fresh scallops, but they only have frozen ones. We bought some and they are good quality and tasted very fresh with decent price.
What deducted 2 points from it is the poor customer service. We asked some questions about the scallops, e.g. origin, dry vs. wet. The lady seemed quite outraged when she heard the dry vs. wet question. She paused and then responded "she doesn't know what this meant and never heard anyone ever asked this before. Now that tourists are coming back, that's why someone would ask such a question and it's not even a thing here." Her response made me feel scared of asking any more questions and feels that tourists are unwelcomed. Due to our love for seafood, we sought out several different seafood markets during our East Coast trip. Our questions were always treated with patience and kindness, except here....

Always excellent quality, and great service. I was in this week looking for haddock, there was none in stock, but they offered an alternative and even provided me with a recipe.
The halibut cheeks were delicious, I’ll definitely be coming back for more!

Great experience here. Nice storefront, convenient, but more importantly- the fish is great and you can tell it's fresh. Tried the halibut and scallops which were both stars.
Wholeheartedly recommend shopping here and having some fish for dinner.

Kelly and Keith are fantastic folks to deal with and the fish is always extremely fresh and delicious. I often email them to put my order aside as they typically sell out quickly, it's always spot on and served with a smile. Thanks for being great people :)
