This is a great organization aimed to help both elderly/disadvantaged clients and their furry best friends. This is all volunteer work, from people who care. Highly recommend others to contact local group (paw'd) to get involved if you love dogs and walks. Or just get a membership/donate to help support basic costs that keep it going. Elderdog is a wonderful example of what communities can do for one another, from the heart, simply out of care.
I had the opportunity to meet Lyn from Elder Dogs Strait area back in Dec of 2018. She took our dear Sandy under her wing and found her a home with a lady named Jill. I would sent Lyn an email asking about Sandy once a month or every 2nd month. Lyn would contact Jill and within a day or so we would have pictures or a nice video of our Sandy. Jill took care of Sandy until her passing Feb of 2022. We had the best experience with Elder Dogs. It was amazing to be kept informed on her journey to cross over the rainbow Bridge.
I would like to thank the organization for helping me when I had to go away and needed a placement for my doggie. They have stepped in, when I was so stressed out not knowing what to do with my dog and they found a foster placement for her. Amruta and Ravee from New Westminister, BC offered my doggie an excellent and loving care. They’ve done so much for my little doggie, including picking up and returning her, feeding so well, giving bath, washing her blankets, and most of all walking her and providing exceptional and loving care. My doggie came back home happy and content. Thank you again for all you do. It’s a wonderful organization.
I live in Nanaimo, BC. My mother-in-law had gone into the hospital leaving her cats and dog at home to be cared for. I did my best to take care of them but when it became too much due to her dog needing more care than I could provide Elderdog stepped in. Debbie from Elderdog was beyond amazing, kind, helpful and knowledgeable. After my mother-in-law passed away, her and fosters made it as painless as possible to get Lucy the help she needed and into a home where she’d be very loved and living her life to the fullest. Thank you so much for helping us in a time where our hearts were hurting, it really helped knowing Lucy was being so loved and cared for by some beautiful people. The updates always made me tear up in the best way
