Rissers Beach Provincial Park

One of the many beautiful beaches along the South Shore. This is open of the most popular in terms of camping and swimming. Park in the day parking area and follow the path under the highway which leads you to the boardwalk. Take the boardwalk to the far end of the beach or go directly to the change rooms and further to the ramps to the beach. The park includes washrooms, showers, and a small canteen for the basic chips and ice cream. Many electric hookups for trailers, plus campaign areas that are just feet from the beach but those are spoken for very quickly. A local store a kilometre away carries everything you need including local produce and baked goods, plus a liquor outlet , propane, ice,and gas station. There is also a pub even closer that is open Thursday to Sunday starting at noon. A 1 1/2 hour drive from Halifax.
