Beautifully restored church. The story of the constellation above the altar is impressive.
St. John’s Anglican Church in Lunenburg, which dates from 1754, is the second oldest protestant church in Canada. St. John’s has a rich history in the Anglican tradition. Disaster struck on the evening of October 31, 2001, when the Church was destroyed by a fire. With remarkable fortitude the Church congregation voted to restore St. John’s to its original condition prior to the fire, and reconstruction at the site began almost immediately. St. John’s has been fully restored and was re-opened in June of 2005. The Gothic architecture is amazing. Beautiful exterior and interior it is great for photographers. This lovely church is a must-see when in Lunenburg.
Beautiful church carefully and loving restored after a 2001 devastating fire. I don't know how they did it, but it looks so original complete with its wonderful stained glass windows.
This such a stunning church. It looks amazing on the outside and is truly beautiful inside. Gorgeous stained glass windows, marble effect pillars, an information room and view to the crypt too!
