A great local museum that is working hard to preserve Pictou County's rich and long history of service.
Small little quaint Museum
This is a great little museum. I learned a few new things during my short visit.
All the webpages for this museum that I visited only had the Winter Hours posted. The entrance at the museum had the summer hours posted as 10:00 am - 4:00 pm Monday - Saturday. The switch-over date from summer to winter hours was not indicated.
The museum staff closed a half hour early. Not a big deal just be prepared for that so you will not be disappointed if it happens while you visit.
I will definitely be back, hopefully in August.
one of the best, for a great experience you must visit this museum. if you are visiting nova scotia make this "a must see". you will not be disappointed.
I visit most of the military museums across the country - this one, hands down, is the best museum east of the National War Museum - and easily in the top three in Canada! Vince Joyce, the curator and manager is 'best of his breed'. Anyone who has the ability talk two Chief's of the Defence Staff (and the Governor General) out of their uniforms for display purposes has to know what he is doing! He also has an enormous collection of CF Challenge and Commander's coins - including the most comprehensive display of CF coins from Afghanistan!
You just have to make a trip to see this place!!!!
