Quaint location with interesting collections
Excellent museum the interturpitors were very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. I learned a great deal about the 18th century house and the items used. The museum has an excellent collection of nautical items relating to the area and the research archives would benefit anyone looking for family history or area history.
Fascinating history, some nice artifacts and lovely staff!! A worthy stop for just a donation. Thank you to the sweet lady at the counter! 🙌🏻
Was here for the Charles Dickens Christmas display, it was easy spending an hour here. Thoroughly enjoyed the Christmas tree displays making for some great photo opportunities. The highlight is definitely the lighted Christmas village and the mulled cider!
This small but welcoming museum was a blast. Lots of local history, and how it relates to the area. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly, and really try to bring the experience alive. The museum visits are also by donation, and the items for sale are more interesting pieces in their own right than just museum souvenirs. While there's not a lot of depth to the museum, it's definitely worth checking out at least once.
