So much to see and learn. Could spend many hours here and not exhaust all that is on offer. Staff knowledgeable and so pleasant.
This listing says it's open, but we got here at 2pm on a Saturday, and it's closed. Nice to walk around, but disappointed.
Incredible place steeped in a sad history that’s an important reminder to everyone. Beautifully maintained buildings and grounds. Highly recommend this spot for history buffs or anyone interested in the history of the slave trade. Lots of interactive features.
Great exhibit that details the history of Black Loyalist. Loved my visit!
A thoughtful exhibit packed with both informative displays and lots of space to contemplate the challenges of Black Loyalists arriving in Nova Scotia with none of the promised support. There are 55 Black Nova Scotian thriving communities, and if you know nothing about Birchtown history, or the history of Black Nova Scotians in general, this is an excellent starting place. It has deep cultural significance and is more than a museum; it honors the hardships, perseverance and resilience of Black Nova Scotians.
