Loved it here. Call ahead to reserve lunch. Serenity is chalked full of crafts and specailty gifts. A relaxing place . And the service is amazing . You can get a free coffee with your 1st visit.
A warm and welcoming place, with friendly and helpful staff.
I hadn't been there before and was given a hot beverage just for coming in! I am amazed at the variety of crafts, products and gifts here, and my purchase was wrapped, suitable for giving.
A great and very interesting place, even if you only go for a visit!
My favorite thing about Brantford is Serenity... the calming smell and atmosphere when you walk into the store to the awesome selection that changes frequently and to the long-time staff that happily gift wrap your purchases! Plus you can have a coffee and sit down or look through their unique selection of clothing. Prices are reasonable!
I used to buy candles here a few years ago then we went to wax melts. I didn't know they made the melts and messaged them on Facebook. I am very pleased to be able to buy their products again. Very pleasant people to deal with and reasonable pricing.
Very quaint and unique.
Pros
They have some very beautiful and unique gift items. Wonderful smelling candles and the quality of the clothing and other things for sale is top rate. What I really liked was that they sell items for which some of the funds are supporting cancer and other causes. From the outside, you would never think that the shop is so big and filled with so many wonderful things. I was quite surprised because it wasn't what I was expecting. The decor is lovely with things to look at everywhere. The lunch was healthy, delicious and with a nice presentation. They have a good selection of healthy food and a variety of coffees and tea to choose from.
Cons
The online menu lists the lunch combo of soup, salad and a sandwich for $10.99. It is not. The actual menu at the table offers the same combination but for $13.99. Their sandwich is HALF of a sandwich (as listed on the menu) and the soup portion is quite small. For $13.99 I was expecting more than a half sandwich, handful of spinach and half a cup of soup. I ordered the ham and Swiss cheese on whole-wheat with butternut squash soup and spinach. It was tasty but not exceptional. The server was friendly and prompt but seemed a little hurried. They were quite busy when we arrived and I overheard them saying they were going to tell someone that they had accidentally forgotten to book their reservation. They are closing for Christmas next week and seemed to be focusing on making sure their regular customers were able to confirm first and then linger after their lunch.
Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. I even made a purchase of a lovely bracelet after my lunch. Just don't expect to pay what you see online, and don't expect a large serving size.
