Thank god for this hospital. I mean THANK. GOD.
I have had a horrible, little known illness called cyclic vomiting syndrome since I was a teenager. Its a chronic condition that mainly involves me being in horrendous pain and throwing up every 15 mins or so for a period of anywhere from 24 hours to 5-6 days and unable to function at all. I moved from BC to Port Elgin a few years ago and STILL am waiting to get a family doctor, and getting care without one in this province when this condition flares up has been a nightmare to say the least. After several traumatizing experiences at Southampton and Owen Sound hospitals, I was recommended this hospital and it has made A LIFETIME of difference in getting care when I need it! I’ve been here about half a dozen times now (always for my CVS) and I am always seen right away, the doctors and nurses are comforting and make me feel as if they actually care that I’m in pain, and - most importantly - I’m not treated as if I’m just a drug-seeker!! I know how hard it is determining what to do with someone with my condition, and no amount of hyperbole can cover how absolutely beyond appreciative I am for the care and consideration I receive there. Even just down to the smallest things like providing warm blankets and turning off the lights if requested. For someone with a chronic pain condition, this place is a godsend and I continue to be eternally grateful for its existence, and I hope every single staff member there realizes what a difference they’ve made in my life.

The staff at this hospital took phenomenal care of my mom when she was sick. We always felt welcomed, but more importantly, I felt very comfortable knowing that when we werent there, the staff would be attentive to her needs.
    Clean building.
The emergency wait times are incredibly low. Would recommend the drive from surrounding areas to avoid waits.
