Full disclosure: at first we were a bit put-off by Doug as we were checking in. We soon came to find out that he’s one of the sweetest humans on the planet. And then there’s his breakfasts… We LOVED the ‘desert first’ approach and his bacon is otherworldly good! He also had some great tips on how to fully enjoy our time in Sauble. We used the kayaks and Standup Paddleboards and even did a little swimming in the river right behind the B&B. We also walked across the road to check out the falls and do a little walking/hiking. Didn’t hurt that that beautiful beach was just 10 minutes down the road either! We really lucked out with this place, I think. Had some fantastic house-mates too. We would absolutely go back even just to visit and say hello again… some more bacon wouldn’t hurt either…
The value of the B&B is excellent considering the size and quality of the breakfast that Doug provides.
Stay was comfortable, hosts were kind, and the facility was well equipped with games and river activities (paddle boards, canoe, and kayaks).
Wow, you really are treated like royalty from the first step in the door Doug was there to help as our code didn't work yet. He gave us the 2c tour and always there offering for a fire pit, hot tub, or paddle down the river.
As well so clean you can literally eat off the floor. Rooms are quaint and the view is spectacular. Walking distance to Sauble Falls and great hiking trails as well.
Oh, I didn't mention the food and baccon it's spectacular. So much food you need to bring bags or containers to take with you.
My boyfriend and I stayed here a week ago and we're still talking about how incredible our stay was! The complimentary breakfast was an absolute dream and the add-on dinners were well worth the price. Having the canoes, kayaks and SUPs available for use was also such an incredible amenity to have included. Both the property and the building/rooms were perfectly maintained and so beautiful. We are already planning a trip back here to experience it in the winter as well! Thank you so much Tracey and Douglas!
