We were down at Lakeview Park and were just going to get some food from the chip truck but noticed it was closed. My wife pointed out the non descript chip stand and we went with the normal expectations Buy were they blown wide open. Ordered a small poutine and I have to say one of the best poutine I have ever had. Fries were fluffy on the inside crunchy on the outside and stood up to the gravy. They almost had a buttery taste to them. Gravy was a thick brown chicken gravy which most people outside of Quebec get wrong but Tommy's got it dead right. Curds were real curds with the requisite squeak. A hidden gem and sad I only found it as summer ends.
Best place ever for fresh cut French fries. Have a variety of items on the menu including Kawartha Dairy ice cream. Prices are reasonable. Food is absolutely delicious. And the family who runs it is amazingly wonderful to everyone who goes in. You have to eat here!
Possibly one of best fries in GTA, far better than those claimed Belgian fries shop in downtown Toronto, definitely a worthy visit just for the fries.
Great fries, right by the Lake nice view while enjoying a little snack
Lovely family owned business right at the beach. We've been coming to Tommy's for fries ever since I can remember. The fries are delicious, crispy and served hot. Tommy's is incomparable to others. There is usually a line up out the door, but worth the wait. Tommy's offers other foods such as hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken and ice-cream. Be sure to visit if in the area!
