The event they put on was great. Really enjoyed looking at the vehicles with my sons who were impressed that I have been in some of them. We will definitely return again.
From the outside it looks small, but once you go inside, it is chock full of historical goodies! Went for my son's birthday as he is a tank nut, and had the pleasure of being shown around by Dan. Dan knew so much about all the tanks and vehicles and even had some stories for us about the rest of the museum. Before we knew it, we had been there for almost 3 hours. Made my son's day! Entrance price is cheap, and my son even got in free because he is an active cadet, he had his I.D. with him. Was cool to see the vehicles being worked on while we were touring too. Souvenirs were reasonably priced as well. Highly recommend for history buffs.
Lots of great exhibits and more tanks than expected. Volunteers are very knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely worth going on one of the event days, as they have tanks driving around a course outside. Apparently almost every vehicle in the museum is operational!
If you are interested in history and tanks, you must visit the museum on a tank Saturday. It is on the 2nd Saturday of every month from May to October. You get a entry to the museum included with the tank 'show' It's a reenactment of past wars, you get a lot of information on tanks, where they were used, my whom and when and their use. They also do a fun tank v. tank contest. It is quite fun. The museum has way more artifacts than I anticipated. It you want the ultimate Tank experience, you can, for a fee, ride in a tank. Bring earplugs, especially for the little ones!
Such a great place for tanks and army vehicles ”lovers”. All staff very friendly, they love what they do!!! If I could live closer ...I would love to volunteer there... this museum is “full of history” plus ...tanks Saturdays oh yes! Great show!!! My next step for 2019 is experience the tank ride!!! Thank you for a great show and see you soon!
