I've found St. Matthew's to be a friendly, welcoming church community led by the inspirational Rev. Andreas Thiel. Their services celebrate the liturgy and choral music and community.
I checked out St. Matthew’s one year ago, and never left! It is the most welcoming, inclusive, caring community of faith-filled folks I have ever encountered. The Sunday Service (I attend the
10 am) is liturgically meaningful, the tight harmonies of the choir ....beautiful, and our priest, the Rev. Andreas Thiel, captivates our congregation with the most soul-searching sermons. The level of outreach to the wider community in St. Matthew’s Spirit of ‘giving’, is truly amazing. I could go ‘on and on’.......
Simply put, I am so grateful to have found this South Windsor ‘gem’........my spiritual ‘home’.
Saint Matthews has a wonderful Christmas bazaar every year which seems to reflect a warm community spirit...also their fundraising has been quite creative, such a musical hymn marathon played on the church organ by their priest !
I find that St. Matthew’s is a very welcoming, kind and loving parish community – a true exemplification of the term parish “family”. The church building itself is bright and cheery….as are the wonderful parishioners. The Sunday Services are extremely meaningful, inspiring, and inclusive. The parish outreach projects are many and ‘many’ are involved in volunteering. The Rector, the Reverend Andreas Thiel, is deeply spiritual, engaging and pastoral. His sermons are so well grounded and meaningful to today and he never misses an opportunity to celebrate his parishioners. And speaking of ‘celebration’, there is always a reason to gather in the parish hall after the Service, usually, just for coffee, goodies and friendship…..but more often than not, with a celebration ‘cake’. I feel so blessed, grateful and proud to be part of ‘all of it’.
Clean and big community space for rent.
