We were desperate for help in getting Levi out of his pulling while walking, rough playing/ mouthing and his declining listening skills. He had been through training before but there were some things that he needed more work on.
When we heard about Perfect Dog for Life, we called Scott and were assured that this would work to get Levi to the dog we knew he could be.
The 2 weeks was a long time, but the daily updates and videos helped us to follow his progress and seeing him in action. Meg did an amazing job with Levi and he’s come home a well mannered dog.
Their training techniques are quite easy for us to learn, so that Levi knows what we want when he’s told. He’s still the same affectionate, lovable dog that he was before, but it’s great to be able to spend time in the backyard with him and not get jumped on.
Scott and Meg have been very, very helpful since Levi has come home with answers, and advice to our questions.
We would highly recommend Perfect Dog for Life to any dog owner.
Best dog training ever. Scott is a great trainer. He is so knowledgeable and patient. I did the one on one training and the results are beyond my expectations. Zorro is now a well behaved dog who is enjoying the outdoors off leash.
Money well spent. Instead of paying hundreds of dollars for different training levels, at Perfect Dog For Life it’s just one payment with amazing and fast results.
Sending my dog Marley to the two week training program was hands down the best investment I have done for my dogs life. But, it was not an easy decision to make.
Day 1 of having Marley home, it became clear that he was a strong headed boy and unfortunately other behavioural issues popped up. We struggled with high confidence levels (because he is not truly dominant) meaning he did what he wanted to, resource guarding of both food and toys, bitting, pulling on the leash, jumping up on people and not being able to calm down.
So we sought out professional help and ended up going through two trainers. Neither approach of either trainer seemed to fully click with Marley and in some instances, made his reactions even worse.
It got to the point where I couldn't even walk Marley around the neighbourhood because if he got too excited, which did not take much, and we held him back he would redirect on us by bitting anything he could reach.
I was desperate for help but, terrified at the same time that any new trainer would be like the previous two and it wouldn't make much of a difference.
When I found Perfect Dog for Life, it sounded like exactly what I was hoping to achieve with Marley but, I was a skeptic for sure. I will admit that I probably peppered Scott with questions before I even signed Marley up but, he happily answered them all.
So off Marley went for what we called "boot camp". I truly think it's incredibly healthy to have that time to let go of "what was" with your dog and set new expectations for when they come home. The daily messages and videos were a huge highlight and honestly it was incredible to see how quickly my dog was progressing and going to places I thought I would never be able to take him.
The transition back home was equally impressive but, about a month after he got back Marley started trying to revert to old habits. Scott had given me a warning this could happen and honestly with Marley's confidence level I wasn't too surprised. A bit frustrating yeah but, we had all the tools we needed to reinforce our expectations and we got through it.
Know that if you sign your dog up for this program the only way you are truly going to get the full potential is if you keep up with the training after they come home. It's also a huge relief to have the support of the trainers for life too.
Now Marley walks off leash around the neighbourhood, has the freedom to explore on hikes during his breaks, lets loose at the beach and gets to experience new places. He is truly the adventure buddy I was hoping for and I'm happy that he can live the best life he can.
Super impressed with Perfect Dog for Life! My dog (Bubble) is a very stubborn corgi.
She did the 2 week board & train program and I absolutely loved receiving daily updates on her progress and watching the videos. This facility equips you with all the tools/ information that you need to know to help you prepare for at home training. The videos are super informative and helpful! This company truly cares about your dog and their wellbeing. Scott was super on top of making sure Bubble was healthy and okay. He informed me of any concerns with her and let me know right away!
Bubble used to tug on the leash, jump on furniture and people, eat food off the ground, bark at other dogs, etc. She is SUPER energetic and excitable which made it difficult in getting her attention to focus/ listen. I would always need to supervise her whenever she’s roaming the house as she would just jump, bite, eat & destroy anything she wanted!
After the 2 week program, I am definitely more confident in letting her roam more freely outside and inside as we now have better control. She is much more calm, obedient, well behaved, and focuses more on me, and fulfilling the commands. She has improved greatly! Even the neighbours are impressed!
Even after training, Scott reassured me to never hesitate to reach out if I was in need of help. I would 100% recommend Perfect Dog for Life to any dog owner who is struggling and in need of help! Thank you so much, Scott, for your patience and determination with Bubble, and for being such a great, attentive & trustworthy trainer! Bubble has already had such great off-leash adventures with ZERO problems and I’m sure she misses you all!! :)
I am SO impressed with the team at Perfect Dog For Life! We brought our COVID puppy (Dallas) to Scott and his team after struggling with basic obedience for months.
Our puppy thought he ruled the house! He would not listening to anyone, unless it was on his agenda. He used to climb all over guests, and had no manners when it came to others. He was also VERY excitable, which meant getting his focus to train (or call him off) was extremely difficult.
After the two week program, it's like we have a different dog. He still has his cute little personality quirks, but the progress has been night and day from when we dropped him off. Now, he listens to us on the first ask and even more exciting - I trust him off leash, allowing him to live his best life!
We also LOVED receiving the daily progress updates over the two weeks he was there. 2 weeks felt like an eternity when we first dropped him off, but these progress checks certainly helped, and to watch him progress so quickly was awesome to see!
THANK YOU, Meg for taking such great care of our little man while he was there!!
I would absolutely endorse this training to anyone who's struggling getting their dog to listen to commands, or, who wants to be able to trust taking your dog off leash (safely), regardless of the distractions around.
