A good place to go and chill for kids and adults
There new skate park is amazing come check it out
A great historical and local park for everyone of all ages to enjoy. There is a splash pad to keep cool during those hot summer heat waves and a jungle gym and swing set for kids to play on.
The skate park is alright as they maintain it well. Great spot for practicing flat ground and street, and there is a great quarter pipe to practice on as well. Skaters heads up: Being near the downtown station you will often see bike cops patrolling.
Be aware there is no smoking at all on the park grounds including the skate park. If you want to smoke you have to go on the sidewalks surrounding the park if you want to avoid fines.
My only complaint would have to do with the parents drop off their young kids (Under 8 yrs) at the park and have nobody supervising them, as they tend to stray into the skate park endangering not just the skaters, but themselves. These younger kids although quite curious about skating haven't been taught the rules of the park. Whenever possible I urge parents to try to make them aware of the 'unspoken rules' in the skate park:
1. Kids should ALWAYS wear protective gear if they want to play/skate in the skate area, even if they aren't skating. This is because skateboards often go flying out from under skaters feet. Having a pressed piece of hard maple coming at your head can cause severe and/or permanent damage. Plus you can easily fall and smash your face! THIS IS MANDATORY and as Police often patrol the area you will be subject to fines if caught!
2. Everyone should always be aware of their surroundings, especially kids. If the kid is too young to have spatial awareness, please supervise them.
3. The golden rule is to never snake others and wait your turn. If you're coming into a group of people with an established line, ask who is last and go after them. Don't hesitate or wait too long because they will assume you're passing your turn!
EVERYONE is welcome at the skate park! If you have a board or not, chances are that you will meet some great locals, and who knows maybe someone might have an extra board or let you use theirs. The Hamilton Skateboard Assembly calls Beasley home, and you will find they are just one big family!
Very great layout and tons of different things to skateboard and even you wipe out, it doesn't even hurt that bad. It's spacious, never too busy and a chill environment
I LOVE THIS PLACE ...
IT IS EXCELLENT FOR THE YOUNGER GENERATION ?
