We came here for our first time as I had heard great things about their brunch. Unfortunately, our experience was tainted by our server. I don’t remember his name but he was not conversational or warm. At one point my husband had to ask twice in the same breath, for a fork and knife for his pancakes. He barely acknowledged us when we said thank you or asked for things. No ‘sure thing’ or ‘right away’. After waiting a while for him to return, I had to go inside and pay my bill because I was done waiting for him. He may have been having an off day but it threw us off. The food was good though. The drip coffee was quite bitter. I couldn’t even finish it. I still recommend this place for the atmosphere and food. There’s an option to sit outside, which we did, and it was so nice. I can’t wait to come back and try something different on the menu.
I really like St. James! I've been here several times, although only for brunch, and I always leave happy and full. From week to week there are different pancakes featured as well as a few other menu items which keeps it interesting!
It is a smaller place so I would go with a group of 2-4 people max.
Cool place with indoor/outdoor seating. Stopped for a quick breakfast with a friend. Got the oatmeal which was huge and delicious. The shaved coconut was a nice touch. Would go again.
Great food but little slow service. The atmosphere is so pretty and cozy. One of my favorite brunch spot!
Visit trendy James Street North and have a lovely steamed coffee and huge lunch platter from their eclectic menu. Yum. Do not be fooled from looking in the window from the outside...this is more than a coffee house,,,although it is an excellent coffee house. I walked by this place a thousand times and did not know served more than coffee and sweets. It is small and people wait to be seated. The menu is on the south side of the interior. It is a funky, young fun place.great seating for people watching. The menu is limited with only 4-6 options...but everything is great. I had a platter of an egg on sourdough toast, bacon, andouille sausage and magical big home fries.....just so yummy. Our waitress was fantastic. Bathroom is unisex and in the basement. Park wherever you can near a James and King William area.
