I’ve lived here over seven years. The building itself is really nice, situated in a great neighbourhood, and full of friendly and kind people. The superintendent is tough but fair and will treat you well if you follow the rules. They could really use more laundry machines and some visitor parking, but otherwise it’s a good place to live.
The company, however, is awful. They were fine when I first moved in but they’ve since joined the ranks of the most exploitative, bloodsucking landlord companies. They raise your rent by the maximum legal limit every year, and they try to evict tenants by any means possible in order to jack up rents. In short, Effort Trust clearly doesn’t believe people should have access to affordable, decent housing and won’t tolerate any fluctuations in your economic fortunes, which virtually everyone is prone to in this day and age.
