Hey Sheila
Just want to say thanks, I was in today, sorry I missed you, I know you are busy.
The electronic switch you suggested and had in stock worked like a charm and put extended life into this appliance of mine.
I want to send a note here, acknowledging to you and your company, (I am a small business owner myself) your products and electronic repair components are important to even general walk-in customers like me. Your components have saved many of my electronics in the past and this one, today, once again. I have had electronics and small appliances age and an electronic part fail over the years and first thought, in some cases was, throwing out and replacing new, but second thought has always been (and successful with your parts, components and supplies) …perhaps repairable and with nearly every disassembling, I found the culprit, and you have always had in stock just what I needed! I suppose it is important to me in our day of disposable "everything" to save an appliance, have it function good as new, it saves the landfill from yet another impulse choice to throw away and purchase new. Recycling this appliance is how I understand this repair and if we all did that, had the opportunity to repair and your commitment to supply us these items, it is the right choice. It is a big deal saving appliances and we cannot, without your business, especially your expert knowledge and convenient location. If and when I can find parts like this, I would rather not source “on-line” (NOT knowing if I ordered the right part and not knowing what I am going to get) I would much rather purchase from a business like yours. Your knowledge and guidance to sourcing the right part is always helpful and right!
Thanks for being there, the many years of your location. I have come to rely on you as my first call!
For what it is worth, I do refer you and your location whenever asked of electronic repairs.
Thanks again.
Rob
Been there before and the lady working was amazing and helped with all my requests. However I go in yesterday looking for something and the guy working was condescending and rude. He made me feel pretty dumb for asking legitimate questions. I was going to buy some supplies I needed for the future but ended up just grabbing the one thing I needed that day and leaving. I guess another company will get my money. It's too bad I really like supporting local businesses. Work on your customer service it's the most important thing especially now
***** Edit: after speaking with the owner I have decided to give the shop another chance. Bad days happen especially these days. Although I don't excuse how I was treated we are only human. I look forward to going back as it is a candy store for electronics!!
There are a couple of items in this store that are nicely priced compared to competition, but other items are just too expensive.
They are the only company in the area (and probably of all of Ontario) that can order special parts for you from Digikey.com at suitable prices. and all you need to provide to them is your name, part numbers and your phone number.
Best time to order is when they have multiple unprocessed orders that total $100 or more because Digikey offers them (NuTech) free shipping if they spend $100 or more which means I (customers) pay less for the order.
Of all the times I've been there, there seems to be one (or rarely two) of the same two staff members (man and lady) working. I find that the lady has been most helpful so far. One time I tried making the phone order and the guy answered and he asked me to call (several days) later instead of asking me to be on hold for a few minutes.
Even though I have that minor issue, I'll still go back for digikey parts and the few items that are lower priced than the competitors.
UPDATE DECEMBER 5, 2020:
The good news is they will help people who can't wear masks by offering a curbside pickup option, but the downside to this is if you don't know what you want, or you want to buy a few items and you need to see the items in the store before buying, then you'll be admitted alone as long as no other customers are present but that's if you're not wearing a mask. The first two times I called out of three, I heard some weird noises, which suggested that someone was faxing a document on the same line as the phone. So this place lost a star because they need to allow every customer (masked or not) to be able to have access to the full inventory of items, whether it be browsing the inventory online, or having a dedicated person explain the item availability (and not just one item, every item in the order) over the phone to the customers. Other than that, this place can serve you regardless of what face covering you wear, if any.
Always have the parts that I need, great service, and very good selection.
Very helpful service and very friendly. Excellent selection in store. Even when I was looking for a very specific fuse and they never had it, the employee directed me where to obtain it. Repeat customer in the future!
