The Rope Store

The last year before Covid, The Rope Store had a little booth set up at the Toronto Boat Show. The cheerful owner could answer every question I ever had about ropes and halyards. Proud of the fact that they owned a set of equipment and made all of their stuff themselves. I purchased a full spool; explaining that I was splicing a full set of halyards myself and resigned to doing them all in one colour because of the cost. He said that he didn't have full spools on site; but that his brother was back at the shop in Trenton, putting orders out the door daily. When my shipment arrived a day or two later, it was five individually bagged lengths of all the different colours - for the single-spool price. Two thumbs up!!

I always come here when I'm feeling blue. I've yet to purchase anything, but I know one day, this place will finally serve its ultimate purpose. Goodbye!

They have a really wide selection (multiple dimensions and a rainbow of colours) of all kinds of nylon, polyester, polypropylene, manila and can make up special orders. I like it that they make all the rope right on site in Trenton. Talked to the owner and he was very knowledgeable (been in the business 30 years) and showed me his rope making operation. I liked the prices as well. Very reasonable. Their outlet store is right on the premises.
