Ross is a very talented individual with a wealth of knowledge and experience. I have taken many job-related courses from experienced instructors who cannot effectively "teach" anyone - this is not the case with Ross. He does a fantastic job of working with you until you understand concepts and then encourages lots of hands-on practice, which is essential in this kind of work. Ross is a pleasure to be around and a great teacher. 100% would recommend as a trainer to any skill level.

I recently completed the Land Nav 1 course for one day. I have to say that Ross is a fantastic instructor with an extreme depth of knowledge of all land nav, survival, and Emergency response .. His years of service knowledge clearly show up in the way he explains complex concepts. Lisa is accommodating, helpful, and very friendly.

Could not speak more highly of this course. Ross was so effective at conveying the significant amount of information covered in the Wilderness First Aid course by doing it in an engaging, hands on way. The scenarios were all extremely useful in practicing the skills learned in the classroom. Ross and Lisa are both a wealth of knowledge and were a pleasure to be around!

I would recommend this course to anyone who has an interest in outdoor activities for pleasure or for work. I feel significantly more confident and prepared for work at remote job sites knowing I've had this training.

It's impossible NOT to learn something in this course (Wilderness First Aid). Ross is so knowledgeable and a great teacher. He is kind and engaging, and the information he shares is clear and easy to grasp. The scenarios we all usually dread in first aid courses are the best part of the course and you end up looking forward to them.

We also laughed so much. The 4 day course really flew by!!

I feel much more confident and comfortable with my first aid skills. I'll definitely be coming back to him in 3 years when I need to renew the certification. He deserves the 5 star rating. Thanks Ross!! And Lisa!!

I recently completed two courses at FACT Plus: Wilderness First Aid and Advanced Wilderness Survival. I am thoroughly satisfied with both courses; a wealth of information was delivered in a easily digestible manner, and underscored by practical application throughout.

Ross is an excellent teacher, and extremely passionate about the subject matter. Any question you might pose to him, he not only has the answer, but also always seems to have a personal anecdote to drive the teaching home. Ross' practical, hands-on method of teaching leaves me confident that I will be able to retain the information and recall it in the future, something that I can't say for traditional textbook and power point style courses.

Ross is also extremely personable and goes to great lengths to ensure that everyone feels comfortable and welcome. Despite the fast pace of both courses, and the huge amount of information to cover, Ross still found plenty of time to chat and engage with me about my experiences and aspirations that had led me to take his courses.

If your looking to take a first aid course, or want to learn more about the outdoors, I'd recommend any of Ross' courses without hesitation.
