Huron Historic Gaol

Unfortunately this monument was closed at the time I visited. Beautiful from the outside and can only imagine what the interior looks like.

Well maintained exterior grounds. Lots of parking and gives a true sense on were we can from as it's older than Canada as we know it.

Really great place to visit. We found it very educational and interesting. We would strongly recommend a visit, well worth it.

Came on Historic Places day, so it was a little busy. Spent ages going through every room, I absolutely loved how they let you in the jail cells with the old beds and other knick-knacks. It’s very authentic feeling. Then once you’ve seen the jail, you have the added bonus of touring the Governors house! A really great experience here.

Great experience. A very DIFFERENT kind of museum! Loved using the audio tour guide system. I liked that we could do it independantly and not worry about missing things.

It does get quite hot and stuff on the third floor, but I appreciated the desk attendant's advice to start up there and come down, because I wouldn't have wanted to go up instead of down.

Really enjoyed the history. Its something everyone should know about. Opens up your eyes and mind.
