Interesting part of the Trent Severn waterway lock system. One of the main attractions in Bobcaygeon. Lots of seating. Cool place to relax and watch the boats going through.
We were here after the lock closed but there is a nice park with benches as well as some historical placks
staff is super friendly and you may refill your tap water for your houseboat here. we spent two nights here(go and return), there is a little beach where kids love swimming there and water is warm. the adults did paddling upstream and the water is peaceful and the view is gorgeous. definitely will be back next year.
The lock master is super knowledgeable, friendly, and willing to help! Great camping and overnight mooring for boaters but be aware of the amateur "house-boaters"!! They will run into and wreck your vessel, so use extreme caution!!!
This is one of Waterway your boat will use to get up to North of the area, and this one is little better than other Waterways.
This town have nice street which full of stores and restaurants, and access to government services are within the reach.
There are several bridges to cross over the river and this one should be avoid if you are in rush or simply no patience for waiting.
Because when there is a boat which is higher than the bridge, the Waterway operator will lift and turn the bridge sideway to open up the space for boat to ride across.
It is really fun to watch and very entertaining if you are enjoying your time in town.
The waterway itself is not deep enough compare to others, I recommend you to check "Lock28 located at Burleigh Falls", that one I believe it has more than 4 metre or 13 feet deep, you can see the boat flow all the way down or raise from bottom.
Other than that, it is better for you to use the bridge at Northeast which on road 36 for quicker access.
I Recommended this location as one of your stop when you travel up to North.
