Egan Houseboat Rentals

Fantastic trip. The best family vacation we've had in years. The kids are still talking about it. So much so, we're doing it again in 2021!

Egan houseboat rentals was a fun experience, the boats are definitely on the older side but traveling up and down the trent was not a problem. Visiting the towns and going through the locks was interesting and enjoyable. Just beware of using these boats if it is windy day, they are tricky to maneuver in heavy winds.

We rented a houseboat for an amazing week touring the lakes for a very memorable holiday. The staff were friendly and helpful showing us an instructional video and taking us out for a lesson.
The toilet on the boat was a bit smelly and the foam mattress too thin for us. There was just the 2 of us so we put the mattress from the spare bed on top of the one we were sleeping on. The battery died half way through our trip, but staff came very quickly to replace the battery. All part of the adventure. The only downside for us on the trip was the stress of manoeuvring the boat into the locks when they were crowded as we found the houseboat difficult to manoeuvre in tight spaces. We ended up tying up near a lock that had a fire pit and stayed there for 3 days. We had taken our bicycles and we cycled in to town each day along the bike path for a meal and ice creams. We found our houseboat adventure loads of fun but we were tired from the experience.

This was our first time renting a houseboat and we had a fantastic time! The staff at Egan were extremely helpful answering all of our questions and the videos provided before boarding were very informative. Our boat had new decking and you could tell other things had been updated as well. It was very clean and had everything we needed for a wonderful trip away! Hope to do this again next year!

Awesome Trip! Egan Houseboats was awesome! Boats were fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. Very clean boats and we were out on time. Loved the waterways and would do it again.
