This diner has very friendly and helpful staff. The food tastes great, and the prices are very reasonable. For $8.99 we received 3 eggs. 2 Slices of toast. A Selection of white, brown or rye bread. The rye bread was no extra charge. This was a nice treat on its own. Ham, Bacon or sausage. I selected bacon, and home-fries sliced as medallions, a refillable coffee, and a nice slice of orange that tasted sweet and accented the plate nicely.
Everything was cooked well, and nothing was overcooked or burnt from rushing the process.
The french fries with were golden, crispy on the outside and soft (not dry) on the inside.
The grilled cheese was nicely done as well, golden, no burning, buttered right to the edge (no dry spots), and no charring. We enjoyed the food and drinks very much.
We were able to pay with a debit card.
Had the breakfast bacon and eggs, cooked over medium don't break the yokes... it was pefect and the coffee was good along with prompt service! I'll be back ????????
If you like a good old-fashioned breakfast Country Diner is a place you'll want to visit when in Smiths Falls. The food was good and the toasted western omelette sandwich is a MUST...so good???? It was super busy on a Sunday morning and the waitress was very friendly despite being the busiest server I have ever seen! I would have given a 5 star if not for the "home fries" I prefer the traditional pan fried potatoes not deep fried potato slices (french fries for breakfast) but that's just my preference.
I commend this business for being closed when I went there. Everyone needs and deserves scheduled regular days off. Will return
First off, I would like to thank the friendly, welcoming staff. The environment at the Country Diner is that of a small, hometown feel. The Breakfast Special is exquisite in nature, finely cooked sunny side up eggs served next to crispy potato slice home fries layered with three strips of delicious bacon. The toast was a light brown crispy texture, perfectly golden and nice on the pallet. My compliments to the chef. The tables in the diner are magnificent in stature, there's no elbow-to-elbow dining here. The prices were amazing and we will definitely be back!
