Blue Heron Golden Retrievers

We decided we were ready to get another puppy, a year after losing our 15-year old golden. We were really pleased when our name made it on to the puppy "waiting list." Judy answered all our questions and made a point of finding out what kind of owners we would be, including how we saw our life with our puppy. We were kept informed throughout the pregnancy and followed the puppies progress after they were born. It was easy to see from the photos posted regularly, that the puppies were being cared for extremely well, including being well socialized. The puppies had extensive temperament testing before homes were chosen, which also helped ensure that there was a good fit between puppy and new owners. In our case, Judy told us our puppy would be able to take us in any direction we wanted and this was true. She has a wonderful personality,sweet but also entertaining and original; she has proven herself to be a quick study at all manner of dog sports and she has blown me away with how smart, agile and enthusiastic she is. Everyone in the neighbourhood loves her too and she loves nothing better than to meet people and be patted (endlessly). She may have a tiny stubborn streak, which I view as her independence and ability to think for herself. She is exceptional and I credit Jim and Judy with their careful breeding, their extensive knowledge about dogs, their behaviour and development that got our Golden off to such a great start. I wholeheartedley recomment Blueheron Goldens.

We got our lovely, gentle and healthy puppy in August from Jim and Judy Stewart at Blueherongoldens. We trusted Jim and Judy completely to choose him and they picked the perfect family pet for us. From the moment I sent a hopeful email to ask for a puppy, we have had an excellent first experience with the Stewarts who are careful, caring and expert breeders. The Stewart's dogs are physically beautiful and well trained as well as very nice specimens of the breed in conformation, clearances and sweet temperaments with numerous awards. I enjoyed honest, respectful and frequent communication for eight months and felt a part of their program the entire time. We left with personal advice and all paperwork required plus extras like a reading list, which we personally found very helpful and interesting. We loved watching the pups grow on their Flicker account and will always be grateful for the gentleness and care with which they raise their pups. We highly recommend Blueherongoldens and would return for another pet without hesitation.

Jim and Judy Stewart are some of best 'dog people' on the planet. They give care 'par excellence' to their dogs and pups who live in the house with the family. Their dogs ARE family. They are both amazing, good, kind people and I love their dogs! They have the best Goldens and are careful breeders who breed for great health and wonderful dispositions. In the past 20 years, my husband and I have purchased two Golden Retrievers from Blue Heron Kennels and we will soon be getting our third - a puppy - this summer. Jim and Judy Stewart are caring and dedicated breeders. Their puppies are born in their farmhouse and are carefully socialized and given lots of love and attention. We have bought two Golden Retrievers from them over the years and they have been the best dogs! We have also taken dog obedience training from Jim and Judy. They are exceptional breeders who are attentive to the long term health and personality of the breed. It is always a pleasure dealing with them.

I can’t say enough good things about Judy and Jim. They took the time to meet us and understand why we wanted a new puppy and then presented us with one within three months.
