This is an excellent Public School that serves a fairly large community of families that have children. Almost all homes around this school have children resided in them. Their are other schools that are close by, yet the 'Thames Valley District School Board' has fine lines and rules which regulate which school a child can go to, even if you live across a street and are actually closer in walking distance to this (or any) other nearby school inside of 'TVDSB' district boundaries, you must play by their rules, unless your child is younger and you may possibly have a sitter in another area where you do drop your child(ren) off at their home in the mornings before school, then with documentation usually one can have their chil(ren) be attending another educational institution. Yet it maybe a school that is not recognized as a top tier (which I mean in the top 10 of listed schools for their academic scores that the 'Board' must provide and publish each consecutive year. So literally they make it extreamly difficult for parents to see this list as published in the Newspaper, as well as in the schools Newsletter that they provide each month and when tbge parents see that a school that is an extra 5 minute drive is way above what school they drive their child too every morning and would make that sacrifice to know that their child education is at stake and the grade / age range of testing which was published is better and possibly in a top 10 position, you'll have these crazy hurdles that you must try and get through, most unsuccessfully do not ever get the chance for this because of the territorial school zones that exist. This school is just great all the way around. The staff, and every member that works at this school have high integrity and are very happy in whatever positions/roles they play in the everyday functioning of Lord Nelson P.S. It seems very cohesive, like a tight unit. The school is very well kemt, both outside and in. Children feel safe, they are secure at recess and lunch times as adequate supervision is provided by yard duty teachers who are on a rotational basis, or on a sign-up basis. During lunch hour, their are even more persons who are supervising the student body, because you have the lunch room personal usually that do not leave untill that b.vell rings and the children have all cleared the yard and are heading back into the school to learn, yeah ????????⭐. By having teachers along with community volunteers on the grounds during lunch it really engages your child, questions may need asking, and answering is all that much better / helpful. Sometimes it may be personal issues that these teachers face by pupils, that they may not know because of the grades that seperate a student from the grade that the teacher is teaching inside the school. It can still steer a child un the right ddirection, help them make excellent choices and boost their overall school activity levels, like extracurricular activities, joining teams, and clubs that a child may not have normally done if not for that extra 5 minutes of support and a little enquiry by a student to a teacher that they just wanted to ask about sonethings, issues or enquiries that come up in everyone's minds everyday. Conversations between teachers and students should be fairly confidential, considering it is not anything about abuse and the such of anything that maybe happening outside of school between students and/orand at home. It also provides that reinforcement of numbers that some schools do need as their are more tempers flaring during breaks and lunches at some schools over others, even though they do have thuge Zero Tolerance Policy for the whole of the student body. Parking is available for all individuals regardless of your station in life! The school is also easy to navigate, straight forward and simple Signs direct one to whatever location they may be looking for! Please do 'Smash' that thumbs up button if you thought my review was helpful in anyway. Thank-you!
