A beautiful adventure: Damian and Szymon are two brothers passionate about music. They put their heart into producing very high-quality carbon fiber instruments. I fell in love with the WinterStorm cello in immaculate white. Initially, I was not too reassured about buying a musical instrument online, especially one made of carbon fiber. After doing extensive research on the internet, I was convinced by the exchanges I had with musicians on specialized forums, musicians who own instruments made by PrimaSonoro. So, I embarked on this adventure and have recently been playing a gorgeous, absolutely beautiful white WinterStorm cello. The lows are deep and intense. The highs are round and warm. It is very easy to handle and is a complete contrast to my old wooden study cello. I already take immense pleasure in playing it and I hope our story will last for a very long time. Thanks to Szymon and Damian, true masters in their field. And long live PrimaSonoro.
I love my new Primasonoro carbon fiber cello! I have the Midsummer Night cello in blue color and constantly get compliments on the looks and sound of the instrument. From the functional perspective it is amazing to have a cello that allows me to rehearse and perform outdoors in full sunlight and over 100 degree heat if necessary. Indoor concerts have been very infrequent in the last 2 years due to the pandemic and this instrument allowed me to still perform without completely destroying my wood cello. In terms of pricing this instrument sounds better and is easier to play than most of the entry level wood cellos in the similar and even higher price range. Compared to a fine wood cello there are some differences. Carbon fiber is more flexible than wood so I have to be much more careful with bow pressure to maintain the intonation, this is especially true on the C string. Even a wood cello will fluctuate the C string intonation depending on pressure and bow speed, but on the carbon fiber cello that side effect is amplified and requires extra care. One thing I noticed right away is that the tone of the instrument is darker (less bright) than a wood cello. Otherwise the tone itself is very rich and beautiful! I love the character of the instrument and I have to say that it is also very educational to play on an instrument that has slightly different characteristics compared to a wood cello. Any professional or student cellist would benefit from having a great outdoor instrument and from the new skills learned by playing this instrument. It also looks so beautiful! I love practicing in nature and there is something so magical about sometimes sitting by the fire at night and playing the cello without ever worrying that it will crack and need to be repaired. Finally it is also a fantastic instrument in terms of character and creating a more modern vibe in your performances!
I bought a carbon fibre cello from this company and opted for all the upgrades - helicore strings, premium luthier soundpost and bridge. I am very pleased with my instrument. I can play in classical orchestras or in modern rock or contemporary groups and the sound is amazing for all styles. Highly recommend. I have played on a variety of wood instruments and the carbon fibre is clearly superior - resistant to heat and humidity as well as having a bright upper tone and dark lower tone. If you’d like to hear a sample of this cello please pm.
I purchased my first carbon fiber violin for $5700 from Prima Sonoro. I wasn't sure what I was getting since the company was still new. However, it is one of the best violins I have ever owned. It is lighter than any wooden violin I own And the sound is amazing. It sounds like the wooden violin. I plan on buying another one of their cheaper versions for travelling.
