I like my doctor, but the receptionist I met wasn't exactly the friendly type. I went there for my appointment in the afternoon, and I was the only patient at that moment. I didn't realize I needed to take a number and wait to be called to register myself or to rebook another appointment with my doc. I went up there when she was available, she told me to take the number and wait to get called next time. No magic words like 'please, thank you' were used in her request. Her tone to me was a bit condescending like a parent/teacher disciplines kids. I would expect a very helpful and compassionate person to take the reception job at a medical centre. That seems more appropriate and professional.
Re: Dr. McNair - An amazingly professional, caring staff that tries to know every patient. I feel that my health is in excellent hands. Best Dr. that I have ever had!
I have felt very supported at st joes having been a patient now for only 1 year. All of the residence I have seen have listened to my ongoing concerns and have provided me compassion and a clear path for future care. I would like to personally thank the reception as I have never had any concerns with bookings both urgent and regular. As well the nurse who continues to go above and beyond to assist in keeping my medical health in check
I've been going here for 20+ years. The doctors and admin staff here have always been very pleasant and accommodating. This coming week I have decided to check out their Dental Services. If the dental staff are as good as the medical staff I'm sure it will be just as pleasant an experience.
UPDATE:
Dental Centre is not as friendly nor honest with clients as expected. My appt. missed due to staff going home to eagerly on a Friday I was 6 minutes late due to train. I've had to wait on them longer. My time is worth less than theirs?) A voicemail message was left for saying will not be able to provide service as 1st Canadian Health Insurance won't cover their services. I was not given a proper explanation other than what they left on the answering service. If that's the way they are with their clientele I'd rather not use them anyway. A shame since I've been a client of the Medical Centre for over 20 years.
IT WOULD BE GREAT IF THE AFTER HOURS CLINIC DAYS AND OPEN / CLOSE TIMES WERE POSTED SOMEWHERE! IT IS RIDICULOUS THAT YOU CANNOT FIND THIS INFORMATION ONCE THE REGULAR OFFICES ARE CLOSED. NOT EVEN ST.JOE'S SWITCHBOARD COULD HELP. CAN IT NOT BE PUT ON THE WEBSITE OR IVR FOR PATIENTS THAT NEED TO COME IN ?
