Great trail system. A quiet in the heart of the city. Just make sure you familiarize yourself with the trails. Some of the trails can be muddy days after rain or early spring. Accessible year round.
It's a huge forest. If you arent use to the area, you may find yourself getting lost. I would say bring your phone or a map of the trail if you arent familiar with it. Trails are marked, but they go off and out to different roads. Hidden ponds throughout the forest makes it feel very peaceful. Feels like you arent part of the city when you get deep into the forest. :)
Celebrating Emancipation Day at the Meeting Tree in Westminster Ponds. This event is organized by Justine Turner every year and hosts live music, rich history about the area and lots of fun, food and games!
Great place for a school field trip
Lovely hike with hills and lots of nice scenery.
