Beautiful outdoor getaway not from from London. Nice trails and waterway to put you at ease.
Beautiful at this time of the year. Snow covered boardwalk but still walkable
There's so much potential here but it appears as there isn't a huge amount of interest in maintaining it.
Despite that, it's still quite nice here. There's lots of picnic areas, soccer fields, playground, swings etc, so spending the day here with kids can be nice.
There a lake here too, which provides nice scenery but I'm not sure how fit it is for swimming.
This is one of the best conservation areas - and a top favorite of mine - I've seen so far out of all the St Clair region. Like many others, this one holds some history, is family friendly (playground, volleyball, soccer nets, washrooms etc), and it has some nice trails/ interesting boardwalks along the water and through an almost enchanted woodland and marshland. The diversity of vegetation and wildlife was beyond what I expected to find. Even the variety of birds accompanied by their wonderful songs was a pleasant surprise.
Coldstream Conservation Area is hidden in a tiny community near London. The area is centered around an old mill pond. The only remaining evidence of the mill is the crumbling mill race. The dam is well maintained. Below the dam is a marsh. The conservation authority has installed a board walk throughout the marsh. The hiking trail is at most a couple of kilometers in length. The trail is picturesque. I enjoyed taking many photos of the trail, the vegetation, and its various bridges. I am glad I made the 20 minute drive from London to hike the trail in this conservation park.
