Costamized Computers saved the day when the competition couldn't! I took my computer to another computer repair business in Strathroy and they charged me $59 to look at it and then tell me they couldn't fix it without re-installing Windows and charging me an additional $200 to do that. I was going to just get a new computer so I paid the $59 service fee and got my computer back. A friend recommended Jim at Costamized Computers so I took my computer to him and he called back 90 minutes later saying it was back up and running. All fixed. $50 .. Yep... he fixed it for less than the guy charged me to look at it and NOT fix it. Next time I will go directly to Jim FIRST!
Let me start this review off by saying I'm blown away by how helpful and kind Jimmy is.
My interaction started off with me inquiring about a 15.6" laptop screen. Jimmy let me know he had a few on hand and when I went in to pick one up; I wasn't really paying attention to the connectors. Took one home, the connector was different and he told me to bring it back in and swap it out.
I swapped it out and took the second screen home; still not the right connector. Again my own fault, and I notified Jimmy that it was the wrong connector and that I'd just search online to find one.
Without me even mentioning a refund, money or anything he went online, found the part for me, and even told me to bring the second screen back and gave me a refund without a second thought.
I definitely recommend this little shop. Wonderful customer service, ridiculously nice owner and an extremely honest place to boot.
Could not be happier with the outcome of an unfortunate situation.
I am more than impressed! I had a video what I wanted my computer to be able to do, did not even have an idea what was in my computer to begin with.
Jim patiently asked the right questions, responded to each of my (many) questions promptly and knowledgeable. He then did his research and presented me with the cost for the upgrade and the cost for building a new computer (which saved me $200).
He then build the computer and had you-tube videos of the building of it as well as a game playing (which it was built for).
Thank you Jim, I have never had a better customer service!.
