Seems like a great place for kids to learn a little history
It was a great facility for our large Girl Guide camp. Our 100+ girls were learning to canoe on nearby Lake Whittaker. The park volunteers were very friendly and helpful. Our group plans to use the facility again next year.
Excellent location for fishing, swimming, canoe/kayaks.
Decent facilities, good staff, a bit high on price per individual.
Not so much a charity as a not-for-profit park offering green-space, camping, and cabins. The park, as the name suggests, is themed around military remembrance and is largely managed and maintained by veterans.
The obstacle course is no longer useable, and the porta-potties are pretty awful, but the repel tower and main mess hall are in good shape and the grounds are well kept.
An important feature that deserves particular mention is the walk of remembrance: a somer winding path walk with memorials to each military member killed on deployment since early peacekeeping missions.
