The Oar Restaurant

The food was superb at The Oar. We were 2 couples and each one of us was super satisfied with their meals. I had the daily special which was sweet potato soup with pepper goat cheese, so delicious and for the main course, I had the pork chop with mashed potatoes and vegetables cooked perfectly. The service was great and the restaurant’s patio and inside were cute and cozy. Try it if you’re in the area, you’ll love it!

It's a great restaurant, beautiful decor, super friendly staff, prompt service, fresh ingredients but it felt a bit uninspired. I don't know what I expected, I was just underwhelmed with the menu. Glad we went but most likely won't be back. The steak was unseasoned although cooked well, the crab stuffing in my trout wasn't flavourful at all. The rice, rosemary frites, green beans all amazing. Like I said it's good just not special.

Good food, good vibes. Patio is open and you can enjoy the meal in the sunshine. We stopped here for dinner from our way back to Algonquin. The menu is short and crisp thus makes it easier to decide what you want to indulge in. We ordered house wine, onion rings, Haddock in beer battered n french fries. Too good portion for two people. The taste was delish.

The staff is courteous. Would advise to get reservation done because it might get occupied during the day or evening time.

Clean, polite, good service and decent food. Tried both smokehouse and honey garlic wings, not my norm as I often find them too sweet but these were happily simple, decent and natural tasting. Patio was well spaced and had about 6-8 tables for 6.

We had a lot of fun here! Our meals were all a little bit fancy with their tasty spreads and garnishes. The chicken breast on Naan bread was our favourite, oh and the onion rings! Our server was down to earth and made us laugh. I can't wait to go back!
