Wonderful hospitality, amazing food made from scratch. Family owned and run. Best steak I've ever had. Fantastic experience in every way possible. Wish it was closer to home
We called The Artisan House for take out. When we arrived at the agreed upon time the friendly staff said the chef wanted to wait until we were there to pack up our food so that we would receive it as hot as possible. The food was amazing and still hot when we got back to our hotel 15 minutes later.. Many of their items are gluten free which was very important to us. When we come to Huntsville for another vacation we will be returning to The Artisan House for sure!
The Artisan House truly deserves its name. The restaurant, located in a retrofitted old home, has a really charming and cozy atmosphere. Service was prompt and respectful, but also relaxed and laid-back; a perfect mix for a dinner away from the big city. I was immediately impressed with the menu. It was small and focused, with a desire to bring unique ingredients together. There clearly was a lot of time and effort put into it. The pairings they made definitely worked for the better. For example, the tagliatelle pasta, which had a rabbit ragu, bacon, and a mix of veggies, including carrots, was a real treat. I never had anything like it and I thoroughly enjoyed each bite. Likewise, the pumpkin cheesecake for dessert, was served deconstructed in a mason jar. So delicious and so cool! The Artisan House was a clear highlight of my trip to Algonquin and I can't wait to return.
Butternut squash ravioli is my favourite dish - and this chef has absolutely perfected the recipe. What a beautiful blend of flavours. My wife’s chicken was perfectly cooked and our dessert was fantastic. We waited an hour and a half for a table and I am so glad we did. Totally worth it. Don’t pass on the chance to dine here!
We had an amazing dinner and would recommend this restaurant. We enjoyed a delicious shrimp/pickled watermelon starter, followed by a gnocchi with super creamy gorgonzola/pesto that was out of this world. Lastly, i had the home made brownie with ice cream while my wife had a delicious maple creme brule. Delicious.
A bit pricier than the average restaurant, but well worth it for a special occasion. We'll be back.
