Amazing place to meet Nature and its Creator!
My son loves this camp. He has been going there for 3 years. I love the camp and wish I were a child so I could spend a few weeks there.
I had such a great time there growing up! I met my first boyfriend there and we're still happily together since (#gaychristian)! If I have kids, I will definitely send them to kwasind. My experience was full of nothing but fun and spirituality. I would definitely recommend.
Our kids love this camp and our family all agrees that it is fantastic! Rod and staff are an amazing group of people and the kids learn real life experiences instead of watching them on YouTube! ?
My daughter learned kayaking during her first stay which she then taught the rest of the family! She also learned archery which I learned as a kid and hoped to teach her one day, but that's little hard living in the city. ?
The hardest thing for the kids was getting home sick, but they can call or email you if needed. It was especially hard for my son as he is younger and in fact didn't want to go last year, but of course after visiting again to drop of his sister, he regretted it. We signed him up for this year. One thing that I really like is that the kids are not allowed to bring electronic devices which is great as they need that downtime!
The camp has themes based on what's popular that year which makes it for exciting for the kids. There is also a store for the kids to buy merchandise and treats. They get bonus money for the store if a friend joins the camp which encourages them to talk about the camp.
The other great thing about Kwasind is that it doesn't bankrupt you sending your kids there like a lot of other camps! ?
Overall camp Kwasind is a great place for the kids to learn skills, good core values, build friendships, build self confidence by getting them out of their comfort zone as well as teach them about nature and to appreciate our planet and fellow human beings. ?
They make me wish that I was a kid again! ?
I wish I could comment on the Camp today, but it was back in 1983-1988 that I was there. Camp Kwasind played a big role in who I am today, who my friends are, who my first love was, where my happy place memories come from, my first spiritual connections and this great list goes on. I had a consistent, overwhelming, positive experience at Kwasind. The landscape is breathtaking and close to God. We are one in the Spirit. Thank-you Camp Kwasind!
