The Doula Tree

We struggled hard with breastfeeding - bad latch that caused cracking, our baby had a tongue tie release, I got mastitis and needed antibiotics, the antibiotics gave our baby oral thrush, which he then passed to me .... it was just one thing after the other making our bf journey a very difficult one, impacting those precious early moments.

We heard about postpartum doula support and 2 months in, my husband reached out for me as I was too stubborn to do it myself. It was the BEST thing he could have done and we are so grateful to have connected with Brittany specifically!

She has a natural way of lightening tough times with her great sense of humour. She brings a wealth of knowledge with her, including everything from lactation support which we really needed, to sleep routine support as we transitioned our baby from our chests to bassinet to crib, establishing a nap routine. Brittany is compassionate, and has a way of knowing exactly what you need and exactly how to help even when you may not be sure yourself of what you need!

My first birth was an unplanned cesarean under general anesthesia. It was in no way what I imagined & left me feeling traumatized. Thanks to Brittany at Doula Tree & my wonderful midwives I was able to have a natural home birth. It was this beautiful, empowering, bonding experience for my husband & I. Brittany was amazing, helping me through the entire labour giving me strength and courage I needed to push through. I couldn’t have done it without her & she will forever have a place in our hearts.

Brittany was our doula for the birth of our second child, and she provided amazing support before, during, and after my labour. She brought a wealth of knowledge, a hip squeeze that got me through the most difficult contractions, encouraging words, and a great sense of humour! She provided helpful suggestions for ways my husband could support me through the labour, so that we both felt empowered. We would recommend her to any of our friends and family.

Brittany was and has been a phenomenal support for myself, my partner, and our son. We had a whirlwind pregnancy, followed by a caesarean birth that was not our ideal, and now an eventful first 4 weeks with our little boy. We used the Doula Tree's services for prenatal classes, day of labour support, and 2 postpartum visits.

Throughout it all, Brittany ensured we knew our options, encouraged us to advocate for ourselves, reassured and comforted us and was a wealth of knowledge. She made us feel prepared, informed, and supported as we decided the best course of action for our family. Brittany was able to help us navigate the ups and downs of our pregnancy and was very knowledgeable about breastfeeding and cloth diapering which was important to myself and my partner.
